Holbeach Meadows travel to France!

24 July 2023

Holbeach Meadows travel to France!

Our armchair travel day for July took residents and the Holbeach Meadows team to France for Bastille Day!

With our passports stamped we explored the red, white and blue decorations in the lounge, where French music played to set the scene. Residents looked forward to seeing what the team had found to wear this time – there were lots of giggles at the fake moustaches and berets!  What was really lovely to see was some of the residents joining in with their red, white, blue and striped clothes!

The rain didn’t stop us playing pétanque, thankfully the walls survived without any damage!!  We had our usual documentary about our feature country and our French themed film in the cinema was Moulin Rouge!

Our tastebuds got a treat with coq au vin, dauphinoise potatoes and ratatouille, followed by tarte au citron at lunch.  The brave among us tried the snails, some were pleasantly surprised, others were not so impressed!!  We also enjoyed French Onion Soup, Pithivier, baguettes and French cheeses at teatime, as well as macarons and eclairs as treats throughout the day!

Once again another fantastic event celebrated by the whole home, with fun for all!
